Wanting to give back to the sport? Interested in learning more about the rules or thinking of organizing a race? Want to support your club’s race? Or your spouse or children as they participate? Then consider becoming a triathlon official.
Triathlon Manitoba is looking for people interested in learning moreabout triathlon and ensuring the races in the province follow the principles offair play and safety.
You get to work with a great team of people, learn a lot and help oursport grow at the same time. And who knows, if you really like it, it mayoffer you opportunities to travel across Canada and abroad.
We are offering Level One and Level Two Triathlon Canada Official Courses March 10 9:00am-12:00pm
- Learn the basics of the Competition Rules (appropriate to provincial competition)
- Understand the rationale behind the rules
- Learn how to apply the rules
- Level one officials work under the guidance of more experienced officials (Level 2+)
- Work at Kids of Steel and adult races in the province
Participants taking the courses are asked to commit to officiating aminimum of 3 events per year in order to gain practical experience. It’s not hard – for example, St Malo Triathlon and St Malo KOS are 2races. This, plus one Duathlon event in May, equals your yearlycommitment. All Triathlon Manitoba officials receive free annual memberships.
The course will be held at the Sport for Life Building and will be facilitated by Kelly Mahoney, and Deb Hnatiw, ITU Technical Officials. Please register with Triathlon Manitoba at email@example.com by March 2 if interested.
